Liposuction surgery・Basic knowledge
- Understanding Obesity and Liposuction-
The human body's subcutaneous fat can be divided into superficial and deep layers. The superficial fat structure is dense and evenly distributed throughout the body, while the deep fat structure is loose. This is the main reason for fat accumulation that causes body shape distortion. It is mainly distributed in the waist, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms and other parts. Because deep fat is the body's energy storage, it is difficult to eliminate it through exercise and dieting. To eliminate these deep fat accumulations, liposuction surgery can be used to directly suck out the excessive fat accumulated in the deep and superficial layers of the body to achieve a sculpted body line.

*Liposuction can improve body shape, but it is not for weight loss. It is not the case that the more fat removed, the better. It must be determined by a professional doctor.

Be sure to tell your doctor your detailed medication history and allergy history.
General anesthesia requires fasting for 8 hours.
Pregnant women, people with hypertension, diabetes, acute cardiovascular disease, keloids, hypertrophic scars, a history of drug allergies, or those who have undergone major surgery, please inform us in advance.
Aspirin and anticoagulant drugs, including vitamin E, should be avoided two weeks before surgery to avoid hematoma or massive bruising.
On the day of surgery, do not wear metal objects, contact lenses, or makeup, drive or ride a motorcycle by yourself; do not bring valuables.
Please go to bed as early as possible the night before liposuction surgery and do not stay up late.
1. The liposuction wound is about 0.1 cm in size and should be kept clean and dry.
2. The outer sutures will be removed 7-10 days after surgery. Clean the suture wound with a cotton swab dipped in normal saline. Then apply a thin layer of ointment with a new cotton swab. Change the dressing twice a day.
3. A corset will be put on immediately after the operation to reduce postoperative hematoma.
4. When the swelling is severe, please raise your upper and lower limbs as much as possible when resting to help reduce the swelling.
5. Please wipe your body and avoid showering within two days after surgery. After 3 days, you can use a waterproof breathable membrane and shower. After 1 week, you can take a warm bath, but be careful not to use too high a water temperature.
6. Massaging the affected area and doing liposuction rehabilitation two weeks after the operation will help reduce swelling.
7. Do not smoke or drink alcohol within 1 month after the operation, avoid spicy food and any Chinese medicine that promotes blood circulation, and try to maintain a normal lifestyle to promote physical recovery.
8. It is recommended to wear a body shaping garment for one to three months after liposuction surgery. The wearing time should be based on the professional evaluation and instructions of the doctor.
9. If you have any post-operative questions, please be sure to ask the clinic and do not apply medication without authorization.

For specific areas of liposuction surgery, it is recommended to wear a body shaping garment that fits well but is not tight for one to three months. This has the following three main benefits:
1. Fixation: Wearing a body shaper can reduce bleeding, swelling and bruising after liposuction surgery.
2. Pressure: Wearing a body shaper can reduce bruising caused by hematoma after liposuction surgery. Local pressure applied by external force can also produce "contact inhibition", which can enhance the effect of liposuction and help the postoperative recovery period.
3. Shaping: The continuous external pressure of the body shaping garment has a shaping effect on the fat tissue, which can help the skin after liposuction surgery to recover firmness and smoothness faster. Combined with massage, it can minimize postoperative swelling, lumps, and unevenness.
A corset will feel tight at first, but as the liposuction area heals, it will gradually loosen. At this point, you can resize it to maintain the sculpting effect. However, since fat accumulation varies from person to person, you should continue to wear the corset according to your doctor's instructions after liposuction. Do not shorten or extend the wearing time on your own.
There is a tendency for swelling and bruising to occur in the early stages of liposuction surgery, which can make the results appear less obvious. For example, with a common thigh ring liposuction, you can wear shorts and go out after about 1 to 2 weeks. After stabilization 3 months after the surgery, you can see the results of the surgery.
Since the density of fat is about 0.85g per milliliter, which is only 1/3 the weight of the same volume of muscle, even if more than 3000 milliliters of liposuction is performed, there will only be a slight decrease in weight 1 to 1.5 months after the operation.
After liposuction surgery removes fat cells, the remaining fat cells may increase in size in the short term due to the body's compensatory effects. Therefore, it is recommended to manage your health and lifestyle simultaneously and establish good living and eating habits.
