Facelift Surgery: Tips
As we age, the subcutaneous tissue of our bodies gradually becomes loose and sagging, resulting in many deep and shallow wrinkles on the skin. Facelift surgery can help you reduce wrinkles on the face and neck and lift sagging tissue to achieve a younger and firmer appearance.
The aging process of the skin can be divided into two types: sagging skin and the loss of soft tissues such as fat and collagen, which causes depression. For each of these two different problems, corresponding effective methods must be used to solve them in order to achieve comprehensive and effective improvement.
According to the treatment method, incision location and size, and fixation method, it can be divided into traditional facelift surgery and HD minimally invasive endoscopic facelift surgery.
Traditional facelift surgery
The wound is located within the hairline. The scalp is incised in a coronal shape from the forehead hairline, and the skin and fascia are separated downwards.
Internal wounds are fixed with absorbable sutures, and external wounds are fixed with scalp staples to prevent damage to hair follicles and hair loss.

Endoscopic minimally invasive facelift
When the facial fascia begins to loosen, but the skin is not loose enough to be removed, the five-claw/eight-claw facelift is very suitable.
The "five-claw" and "eight-claw" fixators used in surgery are a complex of lactic acid and glycolic acid. They are highly bioabsorbable and will be completely absorbed in about 6 to 12 months after implantation.
The surgical incision is hidden within the hairline, and the operation can also be assisted by an endoscope. The postoperative pain and recovery period are much better than traditional methods.

The wound is hidden in the hair, there are 3-4 small wounds, each wound is about 1.5-2 cm
The inside can be fixed with five-claw nails (this is a biological material and is generally absorbed by the body 6-12 months after surgery)
External wounds will be sutured with black nylon thread or scalp staples

- Applicable objects and problems -
Make an incision on both sides from the ear to the back of the ear and then go around to the back of the ear to peel off the tissue.
Pull up and tighten the sagging fat tissue, pull up the loose skin, and remove the excess skin and suture it
Smoothes nasolabial folds and sagging skin under the cheeks
A mid- and lower-face facelift is more complicated than a forehead lift, mainly because the mid-face and neck have complex blood vessels and nerves.
Therefore, the operation time is longer, and because the area of tissue peeling is wider, it can be combined with medical skin adhesive (tissue gel)
To promote wound healing and reduce the risk of surgical hematoma

- Applicable objects and problems -
General anesthesia is used, and the patient needs to fast for 8 hours before the operation. In addition, chest X-ray examination, blood test and other tests will be performed.
If you have chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma, thyroid disease, etc., or take long-term medication, you can swallow it with a small amount of water and carry the medicine with you.
On the day of surgery, please do not wear metal objects, contact lenses, drive or ride a motorcycle, do not wear makeup, and do not carry valuables.
Do not dye or perm your hair 2 weeks before the operation to avoid excessive scalp irritation. Wash your hair the night before the operation and avoid scratching your scalp while washing.
Do not take aspirin or anticoagulant drugs 2 weeks before the operation to avoid hematoma or heavy bleeding.
1. Keep the wound clean and do not use irritating shampoo or overheated water to clean it.
2. For wounds fixed with sutures or scalp nails, wipe them clean with a sterile cotton twig dipped in normal saline 1-2 times a day, then dry them with a sterile cotton twig, and finally apply a thin layer of ointment.
3. Apply ice for 10-15 minutes every hour within 3 days after surgery to reduce wound hematoma and pain.
4. Start applying warm compress on the 4th day after surgery, 5-10 minutes every hour, and continue applying warm compress until the swelling and bruises subside.
5. If a drainage tube is in place, the drainage volume and color must be recorded every 4 hours. Be careful to keep the drainage tube from being bent. The drainage tube should be removed during the follow-up visit after about 1-3 days.
6. Use tissue adhesive on the wound and do not rub it vigorously when washing your face or hair.

As long as you are in good health and do not have any problems such as pregnancy, high blood pressure, diabetes, acute cardiovascular disease, etc., and have been diagnosed by a professional facelift physician as a candidate for ultra-minimally invasive endoscopic facelift to improve skin aging, looseness, and sagging, you can undergo the surgery.
Because the ultra-minimally invasive endoscopic facelift is performed using precision endoscopic instruments, avoiding nerves and vascular tissues, most people will feel swelling and numbness after the surgery, and the pain is not very obvious.
The incisions of minimally invasive endoscopic facelifts are usually hidden in inconspicuous areas such as the hairline, between the hair, or in front of the ears. The incisions are only about 2-3 cm in diameter. With proper care, the incisions will fade to an almost invisible level within an average of six months to one year after the surgery.
